Optimization of HMI Development with CGI Studio and Simulink

Using CGI Studio, users can easily define inputs and outputs to and from Simulink. In doing so, necessary artifacts will be automatically generated, and with that, the HMI created in CGI Studio can be easily connected to Simulink and Stateflow®. After that, by using Simulink Test and Image Processing Toolbox, one can automate the baseline verification of the HMI screen transition logic. One can also easily check the implementation and verification status of each requirement with the use of Requirements Toolbox.

Candera & NXP Semiconductors created this cluster showcase of Functional Safety using our latest CGI Studio 3.10 and i.MX 8QM processors by separating 2D and 3D systems. Telltales and text indicating speed and driving mode are implemented by G2D API of Safe Critical Functional Safety part of Arm® Cortex®-M4F core. The moving elements including the gauge clusters are implemented by 3D OpenGL ES rich graphics A53 core.

This implementation of CGI Studio on Renesas Electronics Corporation’s R-Car M3 board features multiple scenes with advanced designs. The HMI solution shows the battery charge and nearby charging stations, as well as the drive mode and navigation screen. With this solution Candera helps to create the future of automotive HMIs and in turn a more sustainable society.

SIEMENS Functional Safety Demo

This solution created on Siemens EDA's Nucleus® RTOS (real-time operating system) satisfies the essential safety requirement for automotive certification, ISO 26262. With this solution, one can manage the instrument cluster display to separate safety information from everything else and prioritize that to be shown. This solution created with CGI Studio addresses the challenge of mixing safety-critical and non-critical information on a single instrument cluster display.
